The Guangzhou Automobile Group and Guangzhou Yuchai Machinery Group Co., Ltd. recently reached a preliminary strategic cooperation intention. The two parties will carry out long-term and comprehensive strategic cooperation in urban hybrid buses.
At present, GAC Bus and GAC Hino believe that the foundation for strategic cooperation with Yuchai has been formed. In addition to the cooperation of the 16th Asian Games model project, it also hopes to carry out all-round long-term strategic cooperation with Yuchai in other aspects. The two sides agreed that strategic cooperation has since entered an important agenda for both parties.
Jiang Ping, deputy general manager of Guangzhou Automobile Co., Ltd. and Chairman of GAC Bus Co., Ltd., after investigating the production base of Yuchai Yulin, believes that the power and economical selling points of Yuchai's hybrid passenger car models are very prominent.
At present, Guangzhou Automobile's products cover a wide range of urban bus, road bus and group buses with various powers ranging from 6m to 12m, including hybrid power. In the future, GAC will develop into a modern bus production base with the advantages of centralized and foreign passenger cars.
Yuchai City passenger vehicle hybrid power is based on diesel engine and motor together as the driving force of the vehicle. When accelerating, the motor is used as the power source, and the auxiliary engine maintains strong dynamics; at deceleration, the motor functions as a generator to recover the braking energy. The power is achieved with a four-cylinder engine that accelerates six-cylinder engines, while reducing fuel consumption in urban conditions by about 20%. In May 2008, Yuchai has received the first batch of hybrid orders and achieved small batch production.
