January 2011 Analysis of Sales of Self-owned Brand Sedan FAW Super BYD The sales growth of self-owned brand cars is lower than the average speed of the industry. In January of this year, Chery’s sedan sales increased by 21.07% year-on-year to 65,600 units, while BYD's sedan sales fell 15.88% year-on-year to 51,500 units, lower than FAW Group’s own-brand sedan sales.

For the whole year of 2009 and 2010, FAW's sales of autonomous cars ranked after BYD, Chery and Geely. In January last year, FAW Group’s sales of autonomous cars were also lower than BYD and Chery, but higher than Geely. In January of this year, FAW Group’s sales of autonomous cars increased by 16.35% year-on-year to 53,600 vehicles, surpassing BYD and Geely, ranking second in the autonomous car group.

Geely sales rose by only 8.62% to 45,900 vehicles in January this year. If domestic Volvo sales in China are included in Geely Group, its sales volume will only increase by 1054 to 47,000 units, still behind FAW Group and BYD.

The statistics of FAW Group's sales volume are the sum of the Pentium brand sales of FAW Cars and the sales volume of Tianjin FAW. In January this year, Tianjin FAW sold 37,500 vehicles, an increase of 19.28% over the 31,400 vehicles sold in the same period last year. FAW Car Pentium brand sales reached 16,100, an increase of 10.07% over the same period last year, 14,600.

Lifan and Zhongtai have doubled, and the Great Wall has reached the sixth in autonomous cars. In addition to Chery and FAW Group’s sales growth exceeding the industry average in January this year, the sales growth of independent cars in the Great Wall, SAIC, JAC, Haima, Lifan and Zhongtai are also in the industry. Above the average speed, it reached 76.59%, 35.65%, 25.72%, 29.65%, 107.82% and 139.53%, respectively. Among them, sales of Lifan and Zotye cars doubled year-on-year. Huatai, a new entrant in the car industry, announced on the evening of December 28 last year that its first sedan, the Huatai B11, was officially launched. In January of this year, the car sold 450 vehicles.

In the ranking of autonomous car companies, the Great Wall has made the greatest progress. In January last year, Great Wall sedan sales ranked ninth in their respective sedan group, behind Brilliance, JAC, and SAIC. In January of this year, Great Wall sedan sales surpassed these three companies and ranked sixth.

Sales of Brilliance, Southeast, and Dongfeng Auto Sedan fell in addition to BYD and Geely Automobile, while Changan Group, Brilliance, Southeast and Dongfeng Group's sales growth of self-owned cars did not equal the industry average. Among them, the sales of autonomous cars of Brilliance, Southeast, and Dongfeng Group all declined, with the drop rates of 29.04%, 22.07%, and 24.56% respectively.

Changan Group's sales of autonomous cars rose only 5.30% year-on-year to 26,400 vehicles. Among them, Hafei and Changhe’s sales of autonomous cars fell by 67.54% and 38.76%, respectively, to 905 vehicles and 109 vehicles, which had a tendency to die. Although Changan Automobile sales increased in January, the growth rate was not as fast as the industry average. It only increased by 14.82% to 25,400, which is lower than Tianjin FAW, but higher than the Great Wall.
