The center will be mainly used for the design and research and development of new energy vehicles , and will use this platform to further integrate the strengths of all parties in the automotive field, opening up the value chain of scientific and technological innovation from basic research, application development, system integration, technology transfer, and industrialization. in particular, integration of key technology research for new energy vehicles and power systems lay the foundation for further development with independent intellectual property rights of new energy vehicles. Zhao Jingguang, secretary-general of Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Alliance, said that the completion of the center is not only an important step in the development strategy of Foton Auto's new energy vehicles, but also will further strengthen the R&D strength of Beijing New Energy Automobile Industry Base formed on the basis of Foton Motor.
Since 2003, Foton Motors has taken “new energy R&D and application†as the core strategy for enterprise development. In 2005, it invested 500 million yuan to build a key laboratory for energy conservation and emission reduction with leading domestic level, and set up a dedicated new The Energy Automotive Technology Center researches and develops three major green energy technologies that are synchronized with the world – clean energy, alternative energy, and new energy technologies.
