Used photocatalytic titanium white powder mainly two crystalline forms: anatase and rutile, wherein the anatase high catalytic activity. The anatase type mass density (3.849 g/cm 3 ) is slightly smaller than the rutile type (4.250 g/cm 3 ), and its band gap energy is 3.2 eV, which is slightly larger than the rutile type (3.0 eV). The rutile type titanium dioxide has poor adsorption capacity for oxygen and a small specific surface area, so that photogenerated electrons and holes are easily recombined, catalytic activity is affected, and antibacterial property is low. As shown in the table, the bactericidal rate (45.35%) of the product with rutile-type titanium dioxide added under the same conditions of other substances is much lower than that of the product with the same amount of sharp iron -type titanium dioxide (99.28%). It proves that the antibacterial property of anatase titanium dioxide is significantly better than that of rutile titanium dioxide.
