According to the "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" outline, the energy consumption per unit of GDP will be reduced by about 20% from the end of the "Tenth Five-Year Plan" by 2010, which is a very arduous task for the petroleum and chemical industries. From the first half of this year, the energy consumption of the petroleum and petrochemical industry rose and rose 8.7% year-on-year. However, Zhang Qitong believes that as a large energy-consuming large energy-saving potential is also great. He suggested that the first is to increase energy efficiency of raw materials. For example, in the ammonia synthesis industry, coal is currently used as a raw material, and the energy consumption per ton of ammonia is 2 tons of standard coal. If natural gas is used as raw material, the energy consumption per ton of ammonia can be reduced to 1.15 tons of standard coal. Now, the annual output of ammonia in China is close to 4000. Ten thousand tons, raw material gasification rate increased by 10%, can save 3.4 million tons of standard coal. From this point of view, we should squeeze a bit more gas for chemical raw materials. The second is to improve the level of technical equipment and energy. For example, in the caustic soda industry, ion-exchange membranes can reduce the energy consumption of 0.41 tons of standard coal per ton per metric ton of diaphragm. Currently, the ion-exchange membrane alkali ratio in China is only 30%. If it is increased by 10%, it can save 500,000 tons of standard coal.

It is understood that industry is China's largest energy-consuming industry, accounting for nearly 70% of total energy consumption. According to a prospective analysis report provided by the relevant government agencies, by 2020, the energy saving potential of industrial enterprises will exceed 300 million tons of standard coal. According to the standard coal, 70% of primary energy is coal, 30% is oil and gas resources, and 1 ton of standard coal. With a price of 1200 yuan, the total energy-saving potential of industrial enterprises will reach 3.6 billion yuan.

Zhang Qitong also revealed that in order to promote the industry's "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" energy-saving goals, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Association plans to be held in early September in the People's Great Hall in Beijing to hold the industry-wide energy-saving work conference.
