Recently, Jiangxi Salt Group Co., Ltd. established a project construction office and will build an annual output of 300,000 tons of soda ash and 300,000 tons of ammonium chloride in Yushu City. The initial investment of the project is 700 million yuan, which is expected to be completed and put into operation in 3 years. Once completed, it will become the only large-scale production enterprise of soda ash and ammonium chloride in the province.
It is understood that Yushu City will take this project as a leader and make every effort to build the province's largest salinization base. The reserves of eucalyptus salt ore are abundant. For this reason, the city has taken the salt chemical industry as the top priority of this year's investment promotion work, and the eucalyptus salt chemical industry has been listed as an advantageous industry in the central region. In the past six months, the city has successively signed an investment of 1.2 billion yuan, an annual output of 150,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda and its downstream products with Shanghai Yilong Co., Ltd.; and signed an annual output of 16,000 tons of trichlorosilane with Nanchang Hanyu Silicone Co., Ltd. 500 tons of polysilicic acid project; signed an investment of 500 million yuan with Hong Kong Blue Hengda International Investment Co., Ltd., with an annual output of 50,000 tons of AC foaming agent and 50,000 tons of organic silicon projects; and Cheng Hongxing (Holding) International Co., Ltd. Signed an investment of 1.2 billion yuan to produce an annual output of 200,000 tons of ion-exchange membrane caustic soda project; and reached an intent agreement on salt hot spring development with the Wuzhen Old Town Protection and Tourism Development Management Committee of Tongxiang, Zhejiang.
At present, Jiangxi Province has formed more than 2 million tons of salt production capacity, but only 15% of edible iodized salt can be included in the country's franchise of the planned business, 85% of salt as industrial raw materials, facing fierce domestic market competition. In order to extend the industrial chain and increase the added value of products, Jiangxi Province decided to enter the salt chemical industry and incorporate salt chemical development into the important content in the “Eleventh Five-Year Planâ€.
