Zhang Lianhe told reporters that after using a methanol dissociation device, formaldehyde manufacturers can purchase crude alcohol directly from a fertilizer plant or a methanol plant for formaldehyde production. From the perspective of economic efficiency, based on the current market prices for refined alcohols and crude alcohols, the use of crude alcohol as the raw material can significantly reduce the cost of raw materials compared to the raw materials of refined alcohol, which in turn can reduce the cost by about 100 yuan per ton of formaldehyde produced.
