(1) Main features of the wall system mining method

1 At least one lane is arranged at each end of the coal mining face to form a complete production system.

2 The length of the coal mining face is long.

3 The coal mining face is treated with all slumping or filling methods to treat the goaf.

4 With the advancement of the coal mining face, the mine pressure appears to be more intense.

(2) Types of wall mining methods

1 According to the dip angle of coal seam: slow inclined coal seam mining method, inclined coal seam mining method, steep oblique coal seam mining method.

2 According to coal thickness: thin coal seam mining method, medium thick coal seam mining method, thick coal seam mining method.

3 According to the layout of the working face and the direction of the propulsion: the longwall mining method and the inclined longwall coal mining method.

4 According to different working methods of coal mining technology: blasting coal mining method, common mechanized coal mining method, comprehensive mechanized coal mining method.

5 According to different treatment methods of goaf: all fallen coal mining method, coal pillar supporting coal mining method, filling coal mining method.

6 According to the different ways of coal seam mining: the whole layer mining method and the layer mining method.

The whole layer coal mining method is further divided into a single longwall coal mining method, a top coal mining method, and a shield support coal mining method.

The stratified mining method is further divided into: inclined layered coal mining method, horizontal layered coal mining method, inclined cut layer mining method, and horizontal section top coal caving method.

Coal mining at room and column spacing is the main feature. Commonly used are: lane-type, room-type, room-column mining method.

The characteristics of the column system mining method:

The coal mining face is generally 10~30m, and the number of working faces is large; the transportation direction of coal in the working face is perpendicular to the coal wall; there is no treatment process in the production process; the ventilation condition of the working face is poor.

Applicable conditions: the coal seam dip angle is small, the surrounding rock is stable, the gas emission is low, and there is no natural fire tending thin and medium thick coal seam.
